Canadian mogul skiers head to Val Saint-Côme resort in Saint-Côme, QC, this weekend for the 2015 National Freestyle Championships hosted between March 21-22.

On Saturday, the single moguls competition will take place and will be followed by a dual moguls event on Sunday.

Fans in attendance will be able to see many of their favourites in action including five time Canadian champion and 2015 FIS Crystal Globe recipient, Mikaël Kingsbury.

Kingsbury has won the singles event three times (2011-2013) and captured the duals title in 2011 and 2014.

“This is a great way for us to end the season by being able to compete at home in front of some family and friends,” said Kingsbury. “It’s really been a dream season for me with so many amazing memories. I’m excited to be back in Quebec now and back at a mountain I’m so familiar with. Val Saint-Côme was good to me earlier this year and I hope I can continue my success here.”

At the 2014 National Championships, Kingsbury captured the dual moguls title for the men and was followed on the podium by Kerrian Chunlaud and Simon Lemieux. Alexandre Bilodeau won the singles event and was followed by Kingsbury in second place and Lemieux in third.

Andi Naude captured the singles title for the women last year. Audrey Robichaud finished second and Kiera Leung in third. Robichaud then swapped positions with Naude by defeating her in the dual moguls final and Alex-Anne Gagnon finished third.

Val-Saint Côme has provided fond memories for Robichaud. Earlier this year, Robichaud competed in her 99th career FIS World Cup in Saint-Côme and was able to capture third place with her performance.

“The World Cup at Val Saint-Côme earlier this year proved to be a special and memorable moment in my career,” said Robichaud. “I’m proud of how my season went and I’m excited to officially have it end in my home province. I think it will be a great competition for the entire time and I look forward to competing against my teammates.”

The 2015 National Freestyle Championships officially begins on Saturday morning with ladies mogul qualification starting at 9:40 a.m. EDT. The men will begin shortly after at 11:35 a.m EDT and will be followed by the finals at 1:30 p.m. EDT.
